Valpolicella is known for the beauty of its landscape, the green of its vines, the charm of the sun-drenched churches, and the mystery of silent villas that fascinated and inspired Dante, Salgari, Hemingway and many other writers and poets.
Visit a family-run winery in Valpolicella, among the hills and the vines. You will discover how for several generations the family has passed on the art of making wine from the old to the young, a process, tradition and culture of the people living here. Merge yourself in the heart of the classic Valpolicella, at the center of the five valleys that make up this wonderful land where the wine was made and traded from the time of the Etruscans. Here people who love their job and get their hands dirty every day with the land they love. Follow your friendly winemaker and learn the secrets that transform this passion into the very famous Amarone wine.
Every period of the year requires specific activities of work, which depend on the season and on the production needs. Your guide will explain to you and show you (weather permitting) what is going on in the fields and in the cantina and how they transform the grapes into wine. Listen to the history of the family which has been living and working here for centuries. You will also visit the family chapel and 14th-century cellar where you will enjoy a tasting of three local wines accompanied by salami, bread, olive oil, and local cheese.
